Here's what we thought before Ronnie Lott was inducted in his first year of eligibility (2000):

It will be very surprising if Ronnie Lott doesn't make it into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.  The overused term "future Hall of Famer" is well justified in this case.

Dare we say, "I told you so"?
